A Moving Sound Technical Requirements

Stage Plan:  5 performers in a line with chairs with gentle semi-circle.

Space required- stage front for 1 performer (Vocalist) to come forward for dance with appropriate lighting for this.

From stage right to left:

Backline:  (these items are also listed with individual musicians below)

1 snare stand, 1 cymbal stand

3 guitar stands

1 small table ( a little higher than chair seat level aprox 16 x 24 Inches  but anything close will do)

1 bass guitar amp (Mesa Boogie or Trace are best……NO Big Galien Krueger stacks with GK head…….any small combo is ok including GK.

Tech Needs /Mics:   We prefer No Dynamic Mics on Chinese Instruments

Joey:  4 AKG 451,480 or SM81 mics, + 1 vocal mic

• 1 snare stand, 1 cymbal stand
• 1 small table (a little higher than chair seat level aprox 16 x 24 Inches, but anything close will do)
• 2 mics for hand drums:  Top and bottom mic for doumbek (bottom mic on OMNI setting unless this causes a problem in outdoor setting)
• 2 mics for chinese percussions
• 1 Shure 58/87mic for vocal 

we prefer condenser mics for drums but leave this to discretion of the sound engineer for particular venue. One important issue is to help boost low frequency from bottom mic of doumbek.

Ray: 2 mics

• 1 AKG 451,480 or SM81 mic for erhu  (this is a vertically held violin mic’d at chairseat level)
• 1 Shure 58/87mic for vocal

Mia: 1 mic      

• 1 High Quality (Sennheiser G3&SKM5200mkIi or Shure58) Wireless Vocal mic for Main vocalist to allow free movement around the stage area.

Scott:  1 Bass guitar amp, 2 mics, 2 guitar stands

• 1 simple bass amp (Mesa Boogie or Trace prederred……NO Big Galien Krueger stacks with GK head…small GK head and amp combined is fine)
• 1 Shure 58/87 mic for vocal
• 1 AKG 451,480 or SM81mic for Chinese guitar
• 2 guitar stands…very important!

Joyce: 3 mics, 1 guitar stand

• 2 AKG 451,480 or SM81 mics for Chinese guitars
• 1 Shure 58/87mic  for vocal
• 1 guitar stand…very important!

Band requires 5 Stage Monitors with separate mixes

Hospitality Needs

DRESSING ROOMS

SPONSOR agrees to provide dressing room for COMPANY with individual space for Mia, main vocalist. She has very complicated costume. Room must be properly heated or air-conditioned, with bathroom facilities and a lock on the door. Room must be well lit and contain a full-length mirror and comfortable seating for five

These rooms are for the exclusive use of COMPANY, and cannot be used by any other artists, employees, etc., unless approved by COMPANY. SPONSOR shall provide personnel to monitor the backstage area to ensure that unauthorized individuals are not accessing it.

HOSPITALITY

Please provide dressing room with the following

~ Non-carbonated bottled water

~ herbal tea and either black tea or coffee

~ Fresh Fruit & Nuts

~ Plain and fruit yoghurt

~ Snacks such as chips or pretzels and hummus

Catered hot meal should consist of:

2 vegetarian dinners for Scott and Mia, egg and dairy ok

Other Band member meals can include Fish, Chicken or Beef with salad, pasta or rice (or can be vegetarian meals for all if that’s easier)

Hotel Requirements for A Moving Sound:

• Hotel with 3-5 Star rating
• Quiet rooms not near elevator
