If you haven’t seen A Moving Sound before (or if you have) now is a great time to come and see what everyone is talking about! A Moving Sound is one of Taiwan’s most prolific international groups, and has shared their unique creativity in more than fifteen countries over the past six years! This spring sees A Moving Sound exploring new territories for them including London, Paris, Spain and Helsinki, Finland! Before launching their tour AMS wants to reach out and share with their many wonderful supportive fans and welcome some new ones for a show at “Legacy” the great new music venue which is a part of Huashan Creative Park. This world music party will include A Moving Sound and special guests with more than a dozen musicians and dancers contributing for the night.

What is A Moving Sound? It’s not so easy to say. Most people just call them creative!

In A Moving Sound’s music, traditional Taiwanese, Chinese and neighboring Asian music forms are fused in new original song compositions. Instruments such as the Chinese erhu the zhong ruan (Chinese guitar), an assortment of western instruments, and the transcendent vocals and dance of lead singer Mia Hsieh, transport listeners on a journey that Global Rhythm magazine describes as “...delicately balanced between many worlds…an entryway to Eastern music and artful expression of the human condition." The group is intensely passionate about how it presents the use of traditional instruments in its contemporary sound. Their approach is to be holistic – combining art, spirituality, social awareness, and a universal love of humanity play key roles in the creative process.

In Taiwan A Moving Sound has worked with DJ’s, fire spinners, circus performers, done fashion shows and was nominated for a Golden Melody award. A Moving Sound is known for their theatricality and avant-garde expression.

For the May 1st Legacy show, A Moving Sound will not only be playing songs from their set of ultra-creative Pan Asian songs but will include some brand new cover versions of songs from around the world including an incredibly touching ballad from Israel, and others from Greek and Tibet. They will also have special guests Cameron Ford offering his exciting Flamenco guitar, bewitching spinning light dance and trance inducing whirling dervish dancers. Come and join the world village party and send out A Moving Sound around the world!
